2016 SEASON INFORMATION

Safety: No Parents on the Field, No Pets on school property.

Tobacco Free: No smoking on school property (including e-cigarettes & smokeless tobacco products).

Snack Bar: Pre-paid snack bar punch cards are available for purchase at the snack bar, in $20 increments.  Its a great way to support Vail Vikings and convenient when you forget cash later in the season.  We need your help to keep the snack bar running all season!

VOLUNTEER REQUIREMENTS

Each athlete's family is required to sign up for 4 hours throughout the year, at least 2 of those hours need to be on a Saturday when we have a home game. Be sure to list the team you are a part of on the sign up.   Hours can also be earned by being a spotter, downs marker or chain gang at a game.  The games will only be counted as 1 hour towards your volunteer time regardless of the length of the game.  All 4 hours must be completed to recieve your $75 volunteer check back.

Field Access

All Cienega  High School programs (football, band, etc)have priority on the athletic fields.  Vail Vikings Football and Spirit support all their efforts and we will not enter the fields until they have cleared or they give permission.  Please help us by not entering until instructed.  Thank you for understanding. 

 

 

FOOTBALL DATES & EXPECTATIONS

  • Practice: Tackle is every day for the first month from (July 25, 2016) thru (August 19, 2016). Practice times are approximately 6:30-8:45 (or once Cienega steps off the field).
  • Flag practice Begins on August 1, 2016 and follows the same time schedule with some leniency for the younger ones.
  • Practice goes to three nights a week: Starting the week of August 22th, 2016. Practice will then be on: Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, same time and place.

Mouth Pieces & Cups: All tackle players are required to have mouth pieces that connect to their helmets. Protective cups are to be worn at all times.

All flag players are required to have colored mouth pieces, and protective cups are to be worn at all times.

Game Schedule: As soon as TYFSF has the game schedule completed it will be distributed immediately to all families. As a reminder game schedule is always subject to changes.


CHEER DATES & EXPECTATIONS

  • Cheer Flag practice Begins on August 1, 2016 and follows the same time schedule with some leniency for the younger ones.
  • Cheer Practice goes to three nights a week: Starting the week of August 22th, 2016. Practice will then be on: Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, same time and place.

Stunting: A squad member must have (20) twenty hours of conditioning prior to stunting.

Dress Code: Cotton athletic T-shirt or sweatshirts in purple, gold, white, black or gray Cotton athletic shorts and sweat pants in purple, gold, white, black or gray (NO POCKETS ALLOWED)

  • Socks and appropriate athletic shoes must be worn at every practice (NO SLIP ON SHOES ALLOWED)
  • ABSOLUTELY NO DENIM, BOOTY SHORTS, POCKETS, SPAGHETTI STRAPS, TANK TOPS, JEWELRY, LONG NAILS OR NAIL POLISH ARE ALLOWED

The Vail Vikings Youth Football and Spirit Association will ensure that every child with the desire to participate gets the opportunity to play or cheer, without regard to prior experience or athletic ability.
