2020 Season Cancelled

Unfortunately TYFSF has officially cancelled the 2020 Season due to the Govenor and AIA pushing all the dates and closures out as well as the COVID numbers rising. The Vikings Board has ironed out all the details of refunds/roll over credit and also what to do about raffle tickets and such. You should be receiving an email from your head coaches with a link to fill out a form to tell us how you would like to handle your fees that have been paid. All refund checks will be mailed to you, your address on the form must match the address on file to prevent any delay with receiving your refund. Any addresses that don't match will need us to reach out to you to verify reason for a different address, this is to prevent someone from trying to claim a refund on your behalf.  We will also need to have all raffle tickets returned in to the Vikings, in order to start reaching out to anyone who purchased them to let them know due to the canceled season we have had to cancel the raffle. They will have the option to of requesting a refund or turning it into a donation to the organization. For those who had conquistador tickets your coaches will be presenting you the options in their emails to you. We will be at Native Saturday July 11th from 11am-1pm for you to come and return your tickets to us.

To address quickly one question that has been received; some parents have said since you didn't have a season, you didn't have to put any money out. Our president would like to share that unfortunately this is not true, every year in preparation for the season we have to start spending some money as early as January. We purchased some new helmets, had our existing helmets reconditioned, some other new equipment as well as our expenses to support registrations which put us close to $10,000 in preparation for the season.

We would like to thank Matt Horn from Steamy Concepts, our major sponsor for leaving his sponsorship money with us to prepare for next year!

Each athlete's family is required to sign up for 4 hours throughout the year, at least 2 of those hours need to be on a Saturday when we have a home game. Be sure to list the team you are a part of on the sign up.   Hours can also be earned by being a spotter, downs marker or chain gang at a game.  The games will only be counted as 1 hour towards your volunteer time regardless of the length of the game.  All 4 hours must be completed to recieve your $75 volunteer check back.

Our Mission

The Vail Vikings Youth Football and Spirit Association will ensure that every child with the desire to participate gets the opportunity to play or cheer, without regard to prior experience or athletic ability. We will instill in our youth the challenge of competition, the joy of victory, the reality of defeat, the importance of commitment and the spirit of community.

No individual may enter the practice or playing fields without the proper credentials.  Per TYFSF policy you will be subject to ejection from the facility if you do.  In case of player injury or emergency, please go to the player gate and ask for assistance.

Per TYFSF policy, dual participation in TYFSF programs and any other tackle football, flag football, and cheer outside of TYFSF is prohibited.

Field Priority

All Cienega  High School programs (football, band, etc.) have priority on the athletic fields.  Vail Vikings Football and Spirit support all their efforts and we will not enter the fields until they have cleared or they give permission.  Please help us by not entering until instructed.  Thank you for understanding.

A very special thank you to our sponsors. Without them, this would not be possible.

Please support them the same way they have supported us.

Helmet Certification

All personal helmets to be used during this season must have a current certification sticker on them.  It has been passed down by the commissioner that the certification last the entire season.  So helmets certified before 2019 currently may not be used until they are recertified.  We use Sun Valco out of Phoenix, but you are welcome to use any recognized company.  You must bring your helmet to equipment handout for it to be checked.  Certification turn around time take about 4 weeks, so please don't delay.
